The meal planner and your family's recipes.
Plan the week's dinners together, keep your family's recipes in the Cookbook and add the ingredients to the shopping list with one tap. Today's dinner shows on Home, in the calendar, on your watch and in the widget.
What's for dinner? Everyone knows.
Meal planning and the Cookbook are part of Peepz Premium, and one adult buys it for the whole family.
One week at a time
Monday to Sunday, one dinner a day. Tap a day to plan it, and swipe to change week.
Who's cooking?
Choose who's cooking – even a child without an account of their own. It shows on the day in the week and on Home.
Your family's dishes as suggestions
Not in a while and Often suggest what you usually eat. One tap, and the note, recipe link and ingredients come along.
Same as last week
Copy last week's dinners to the same days of the week, with the cook and servings. Days that already have a dinner are kept, unless you choose Replace them.
Vote on dinner
Ask the family what to eat on Friday. Everyone who can vote can suggest a dish of their own, and when the poll closes, the winner is planned in.
Ingredients to the list
A day's or the whole week's ingredients. The same item in several dishes is added up, and anything already on the list isn't added again.
What you usually have at home
Mark salt and oil as Usually at home, and they're already unticked when the ingredients go to the list.
Dinner everywhere
Today's dinner shows on Home, in the calendar, on Apple Watch, in the Today widget and on the family board on the kitchen tablet.
Note and recipe link
“Double batch” or the link to the recipe – it belongs to the dish and comes along every time you cook it.
A picture of the dish
If the dish has a picture in the Cookbook, it shows in the week, on Home and on the family board on your tablet – and large when you open the day.
Plan without a connection
Plan, change or clear a day even without a connection. The day shows Waiting for connection, and the change is sent when you're back online.
On a tablet
The week on the left, and the Cookbook at the top on the right, above this week's ingredients. A recipe opens beside the Cookbook, and you can drag a dish to another day in the week.
Your family's recipes, worked out for however many you are.
Keep Grandma's meatballs and Friday tacos in a cookbook the whole family shares – with a photo, time, ingredients and steps.
Photo, time and servings
Take a photo of the dish or choose a picture, and add the time and how many the recipe serves.
Headings for ingredients and steps
Split it into Dough and Sauce, or Preparation and Cooking. The steps are numbered all the way through.
Paste an ingredient list
One ingredient per line, for example “2 dl milk”. A line ending with a colon becomes a heading.
Get it from a web page
Paste the link to a recipe, or share the page to Peepz from your browser. The name, servings, time, ingredients, steps and photo are filled in.
Start cooking
One step at a time in large text, and the screen stays on. Times in the steps become timers – several can run at once.
Share and copy
Share a recipe as text, or copy it to another of your families – photo included.
Change the servings
Choose how many of you there are, and every amount is worked out again – including what goes on the shopping list.
Plan it in with one tap
Choose a day in the next two weeks. Whoever is already cooking that day stays on.
How to do it in the app.
Meals and the Cookbook are under Plan → Meals. There are more guides on the Help page.
-
Plan the week's dinners
- Open Plan and choose Meals.
- Tap a day.
- Write the dish, tap a suggestion – or tap Choose from the cookbook.
- Choose who's cooking under Who's cooking? and tap Save.
-
Same as last week
- Open Plan → Meals and go to the week that should get the dinners.
- Tap … in the week's heading and choose Same as last week.
- If the week already has dinners, the app asks – for example “Dinner is already planned for Friday and Saturday”. Choose Keep them or Replace them.
The dinners from the week before are copied to the same days of the week. The cook and servings come along, but polls don't.
-
The same dish on another day
- Touch and hold a day that has a dinner under Meals.
- Choose Plan on another day….
- Choose the day under Which day? and tap Plan.
On a tablet you can also drag the dish to another day in the week. Whoever is already cooking that day stays on.
-
Add the ingredients to the list
- Tap This week's ingredients to the shopping list – or Add to shopping list inside a day.
- Choose the list.
- Untick what you already have at home.
- Tap Add.
The same item in several dishes is added up, and the items land under their headings. On a tablet the ingredients are beside the week: Show all expands the list, and the button below it is To the shopping list.
-
Save a recipe in the Cookbook
- Open Plan → Meals and tap Cookbook at the top.
- Tap + and fill in the name, servings and time.

-
Cook from the recipe
- Open the recipe and choose how many of you there are.
- Tap Start cooking, tick off the ingredients and tap Start.
- Swipe or tap Next. If the step mentions a time, start a timer with one tap.
When the time is up it beeps, and with notifications on you get a notification even when the app isn't open. On the tablet board, tonight's dinner has its own Start cooking.
-
Vote on dinner
- Tap the day under Meals.
- Tap Vote on dinner.
- Change the options and when the poll closes, and create it.
- When the poll closes, the winner is planned in.
While the poll is open, everyone who can vote – children too – can tap Suggest an option. If it's a tie, or nobody votes, you choose the dish yourselves on the day.
Questions about meals and the Cookbook
There are more answers on the Help page, or email us at hej@peepz.se.
Is meal planning free?
No, planning dinners and using the Cookbook are part of Peepz Premium: SEK 49 a month or SEK 399 a year for the whole family, and the first 14 days are free. Shopping lists and the calendar are free.
Can the children cook dinner in Peepz?
Yes. Choose a child under Who's cooking? – even a child without an account of their own – and everyone sees on Home who's cooking today.
Can I save a recipe from a website?
Yes. Tap + in the Cookbook and paste the link under Get from a web page, or share the page to Peepz from your browser. The app reads the recipe straight from the website and fills in the name, servings, time, ingredients, steps and photo – our servers never fetch the page. If no recipe is found, the link is saved as the recipe link, and you can paste the ingredient list under Paste ingredients. Getting recipes works in the apps, not on the web.
Can I keep the recipe in front of me while I cook?
Yes. Tap Start cooking in the recipe to see one step at a time in large text, and the screen stays on. A time in a step, like “simmer for 10 minutes”, becomes a timer you start with one tap, and several timers can run at once.
How are the servings worked out?
Change Servings on the recipe, and every amount is worked out again – also when you add the ingredients to the shopping list or plan the recipe in. A recipe without servings can't be scaled.
Can we plan without a connection?
Yes. Without a connection the app shows the week as it last looked, and you can plan, change and clear a day – and choose Same as last week. The day shows Waiting for connection, and the changes are sent when you're back online. If you change the same day twice, the latest change counts. A copied week shows once the copy has been sent, and a change that has waited more than a week isn't sent – the app lets you know.
What happens if we stop Premium?
Nothing is deleted. The meal plan and the Cookbook can still be read, but not changed, until the family has Premium again.
Does dinner show in the widget?
Yes. The Today widget shows today's dinner when the family has Premium, and it also shows on Apple Watch and on the family board on your tablet.
Bring the family together in Peepz.
Download the app, create your family and invite everyone else with a link.
