Shopping lists

The shopping list the whole family adds to.

Shared shopping lists everyone in the family can write on – in shop order, with suggestions from what you usually buy and ticking off with a swipe. Even in the supermarket basement, without signal.

How it works

The right item, under the right heading.

Shopping lists are free, with no limit on how many lists you have or how many of you there are.

  • Several lists, each with a colour

Groceries, the pharmacy and the hardware shop – each list in its own colour, and the card shows how much is left.

  • The store's sections

One tap adds headings such as Fruit & veg, Dairy and Pantry. Make your own headings and sort them like your shop.

  • Items find their way home

Move an item to a heading, and it lands there the next time anyone in the family adds it.

  • Suggestions from before

What you usually buy is suggested as you type. Touch and hold to remove a suggestion you don't want to see.

  • Due dates

Mark what's urgent with today, tomorrow or a date. It comes first on Home, and a notification at 07:00 reminds you.

  • Tick off with a swipe

Tap or swipe right. Ticked-off items gather at the bottom, and Undo brings back anything you removed.

  • Works without signal

Add and tick off items without a connection. The changes are sent in the right order when your phone is back online.

  • Widget, watch and Siri

Tick off in the To buy widget or on Apple Watch, and say “Add to the list in Peepz”.

  • From the meal planner Premium

Add a day's or the whole week's ingredients to the list, in the right amounts and under the right heading.

List types

Not just shopping. The things to do as well.

Choose what a list is for: a shopping list, a to-do list or something else. Home and Apple Watch keep what you need to buy apart from what needs doing.

  • Shopping list

What's left shows under To buy on Home, on your watch and in the widget. The lists you already have are shopping lists.

  • To-do

Pay the football fee, book the tyre change, fix the bike. It sits under its own heading, To do, and doesn't get mixed up with the milk.

  • Other

Films to watch, the packing list for half-term, wish lists. They stay out of the way – Home only shows what has a due date.

Lists for chosen peoplePremium

The Christmas list the children can't see.

With Peepz Premium you choose who in the family can see a list. Perfect for wish lists, Christmas gifts and the surprise party.

  • You choose who

Choose Chosen people when you create the list and tap the people who should see it. You're always included as the one who creates it.

  • Only they can see it

The list has a lock, and inside it says who can see it. For everyone else in the family it doesn't show at all – not even for adults.

  • Stays hidden

If you stop Premium, the list stays hidden from the others and can be used as before.

Step by step

How to do it in the app.

Your lists are under Plan → Lists. There are more guides on the Help page.

  • Create a list

    1. Open Plan and choose Lists.
    2. Tap New list.
    3. Give the list a name and choose a type: Shopping list, To-do or Other.
    4. Choose a colour and who can see the list, and tap Create.

Write in the field at the bottom of the list, or tap a suggestion. Change the type later under Edit list – touch and hold the list.

  • Sort the list like your shop

    1. Open the list and tap Headings.
    2. Tap Add the store's sections – or write your own under New heading.
    3. Touch and drag to sort the headings like your shop.
    4. To move an item: touch and hold it and choose Move to.

The item remembers its heading for next time.

  • Set a due date

    1. Swipe the item left and tap Due date.
    2. Choose Today, Tomorrow, In a week or a date.
    3. Tap Save.

On days when something is due you get a notification at 07:00, if Due dates in lists is turned on under Notifications.

  • Tick off and undo

    1. Tap the item, or swipe it right.
    2. Swipe left and tap Remove to remove an item.
    3. Changed your mind? Tap Undo in the message that appears, or Restore under Recently deleted.

Questions about shopping lists

There are more answers on the Help page, or email us at hej@peepz.se.

Does the list work without signal?

Yes. You can add, tick off and remove items without a connection, and the list shows as it was last time. An item waiting for a connection has a small symbol, and the changes are sent in the right order when your phone is back online. Headings, due dates and new lists need a connection.

Can we have lists for things other than shopping?

Yes. When you create a list you choose a type: Shopping list, To-do or Other. What needs doing sits under To do on Home and on Apple Watch, apart from what you need to buy. Other lists – films to watch, a packing list – only show on Home when something has a due date. Change the type under Edit list.

What happens to the lists we already have?

Nothing. The lists you have are shopping lists until someone chooses another type under Edit list.

Can everyone in the family write on the lists?

Yes, every role can write on the lists from the start. Whole lists can be deleted by owners and adults, and by whoever created the list.

How do I make a list only some people can see?

With Peepz Premium: choose Chosen people under Who can see the list? when you create or edit the list, and tap the people who should see it. You're always included as the one who creates it. If you stop Premium, the list stays hidden from the others.

How many lists can we have?

As many as you like. Shopping lists are free, with no limit on lists or items.

Can I move an item to another list?

Yes. Touch and hold the item, choose Move to list and tap the list it should go to. On a tablet you can also drag the item to one of the lists beside it. The item lands under the heading it usually has there, and if the same item is already on that list, the two are merged. Moving needs a connection.

Can I remove a suggestion?

Yes. Touch and hold the suggestion and choose Remove suggestion. It only comes back if someone adds the item to the list again.

Does the list show on Apple Watch?

Yes. The watch shows To buy and To do, and you can tick things off right on it. The To buy widget shows your shopping lists on your Home Screen. More about the watch and widgets.
