What's new
What's new. Version by version.
Peepz keeps getting better. Here's everything that has arrived since the launch – the latest first. Update the app on the App Store or Google Play to get the new things; the web is always up to date.
-
From the web page to the hob.
- Get recipes from a web page Premium: paste the link in New recipe, or share the page to Peepz from your browser. The name, servings, time, ingredients, steps and photo are filled in.
- Start cooking: the ingredients first, then one step at a time in large text. The screen stays on, and times in the steps become timers – several can run at once. On tablets the ingredients sit beside the steps.
- Share a recipe as text, for the number of servings you have chosen.
- Copy a recipe to another of your families – your children’s other home, say – photo included.
- On tablets: tap Start cooking on tonight’s dinner in full-screen mode.
- Emergency alerts and late trips are Time Sensitive notifications on iPhone and can get through when a Focus is on.
- Premium shows right after you buy it, widgets show an event that lasts several days – a school holiday, say – on every day, and Today on Apple Watch moves on at midnight.
-
Your colour, your accent.
- Choose an accent colour in your profile: Peepz red, Plum, Indigo, Fjord, Jade, Moss, Slate – or one of your own. It colours buttons, links and highlights, always stays readable in light and dark mode and is only saved on the device.
- My color can be any colour from the colour picker. Your family sees it on your avatar, in the calendar and on the map.
- The school widget Premium shows the day as blocks: a symbol for the subject, when each lesson starts and ends, and the room. A strip shows the whole school day, and the lesson in progress is highlighted.
- Shopping list: the field under a heading stays in view when you add several items in a row.
- An item you add again no longer gets its old due date back – the bread isn’t overdue straight away.
- Full-screen mode on tablets: expand Today to see what has already happened, and Tomorrow to see every event.
-
The family’s own suggestions, places and pictures.
- Suggest in polls: everyone who can vote can add their own option while the poll is open – children too. A suggestion in a dinner poll can win and end up among this week’s dinners.
- Family places: add Grandma’s, the shop or the football pitch. They become shortcuts in Where are you going?, and the status shows the place’s name.
- The trip card says where the trip is going – On the way home · At Dad’s.
- This week’s dinners Premium: copy last week with Same as last week, see a picture of the dish and plan even when you’re offline.
- The school schedule as a widget Premium: choose whose schedule it shows – one widget per child. A child only sees their own.
- Your own background pictures Premium: up to nine pictures behind Home and full-screen mode, one at a time or as a slideshow. The pictures stay on the device.
- Home shows which family you’re looking at, if you’re in more than one – and that’s where you switch.
- On tablets: the cookbook beside the recipe, keyboard shortcuts, right-click and drag and drop – an item to another list, a dish to a day of the week.
- Family Mode: turn the tablet in the kitchen into a locked family board. Everyone can tick off chores and items, and you leave it with Face ID, Touch ID, a fingerprint or the tablet’s passcode.
-
Peepz for Android.
- Peepz is on Google Play for phones and tablets with Android 10 or later.
- On an Android tablet the app is laid out as on iPad: the day and the family side by side, the list next to its items and the whole school week – and the full-screen mode that turns the tablet into the family board in the kitchen, with a page per person.
- The same account and the same family as on iPhone – the calendar, lists, meals, school schedule, chores, polls and where everyone is, whatever phone they have.
- Peepz Premium can be bought in the Android app, through Google Play, and covers the whole family – including those with an iPhone.
- On iPhone, the Peepz Premium page is clearer about who in the family pays and where the subscription is managed.
- On iPhone: if you confirm something with your password and it still can't be done, the message appears where you were – not in the password prompt.
-
The kitchen iPad is now for the whole family.
- A page per person in full-screen mode on iPad: swipe sideways from the board, or tap your picture in the row of pages.
- Your page shows your day – your next event with a countdown, today's timeline and your school day lesson by lesson.
- Tick off your chores right on the screen. The tick and the points are yours – it works when an adult is signed in on the iPad.
- Chores anyone can do, and those done when needed, are on everyone's page.
- Whatever is left on lists you've been chosen for is on your page too.
- The page goes back to the board by itself after a while.
-
Peepz in your browser.
- app.peepz.se: sign in with the same account as in the app – on your computer, or wherever you have a browser.
- Home, Plan, Chores, Location and Family are all there: the calendar, the meals, the lists, the polls, the school schedule, the chores and where everyone is.
- What you change in the browser shows up in the app straight away, and the other way round.
- The board from the iPad can be shown in full screen – on a screen in the kitchen, for example.
- The same themes as in the app, in Swedish or English.
- No new account and no extra cost. Your family's Premium applies in the browser too.
-
Lists for more than shopping.
- List types: choose whether a list is a shopping list, a to-do list or something else – films to watch, a packing list. Pick the type when you create the list, and change it under Edit list.
- Home shows what to buy under To buy and what needs doing under To do – separately, with anything due today at the top.
- The same split on Apple Watch and on the iPad's kitchen board.
- Other lists stay out of the way: Home only shows what has a due date.
- The morning notification says whether there's something to buy or to do today.
- The To buy widget shows your shopping lists, and Today counts your to-dos separately.
- Your lists are shopping lists until you choose otherwise – nothing changes by itself.
-
Chores – everyone pitches in.
- Chores: a new tab where adults add the household chores – on certain days, every week or when needed – and hand them out. Today's chores are on Home too.
- Tick off with one tap. An adult can tick off for a child without a phone of their own, and several people can take turns: Ella on Wednesdays, Kalle on Sundays.
- Points and leaderboard Premium: see who's leading the day, the week and the month – and who wins the prize of the week.
- Rewards Premium: your family's own rewards, like screen time or a lie-in, redeemed with points. Pick a savings goal and see how close you are.
- Notifications: a reminder at 4 pm about today's chores, a heads-up when you're given a chore, and the week's winner on Sunday evening.
- Finished polls go into an archive.
- iPad: the week's ingredients next to the dinners, and the right list when you switch in the sidebar.
-
The Cookbook, headings in lists and your family calendar in Google and Outlook.
- Cookbook Premium: collect your family's recipes under Plan → Meals – with a photo, servings, time, ingredients and steps under headings.
- Choose the number of servings and every amount is scaled. Plan the recipe for a day and add the ingredients to the shopping list in the right amounts – what you usually have at home is already unticked.
- Paste an ingredient list, and each line becomes an ingredient.
- Headings in lists: arrange the shopping list by the shop's aisles. Each item remembers its heading and lands in the right place next time.
- Remove a suggestion you don't want with a long press.
- Calendar integration Premium: show your family calendar – or one person's – in Google Calendar, Outlook and other calendars with a private link.
-
School schedules and themes.
- School schedule Premium: add lessons under Plan → School – for the children and for yourself. The person at school sees every lesson on Home and in the calendar, and the rest of the family sees when the school day starts and ends.
- Take a photo of the schedule or choose a screenshot from the school's app, and the lessons are filled in. The picture is read on your phone and never stored.
- INSET days, cancelled lessons and school holidays are added for just those days.
- A child with two homes has the same schedule in both families – a change shows up in both straight away, if both families have Premium.
- On iPad you see the whole school week.
- Themes: give the app a living background – Morning, Day, Evening, Night or Time of day. Choose it from your profile.
- The events on Home are now shown as a timeline, with what's happening right now.
-
Peepz is now on iPad.
- The whole app on iPad, in landscape and portrait – with the day and the family side by side when there's room. Open a list and your lists stay on the left with the items on the right.
- Full-screen mode for the kitchen: tap the full-screen button at the top right of Home and your iPad becomes a live board with the clock, what's next, dinner, the shopping list and where everyone is. Tick off items right on the board. The screen stays on while the board is showing.
- The widgets for the day and the shopping list now also come in a large size – on iPhone and iPad.
- With a keyboard on iPad, ⌘1–⌘4 switch tabs.
-
Fixes after the launch.
- The family, invites and contacts update straight away for everyone in the family – without anyone having to open the app again.
- The Child role can only be chosen for someone who is already a child. A child account is created with an invite as a child.
- Several smaller bugs are fixed.
-
Peepz arrives on the App Store.
- Family calendar with day, week and month, tags for who it's for and Only mine.

- The week's dinners Premium: one dinner a day, who's cooking and the ingredients to the shopping list.
- Lists for chosen people Premium and Apple Calendar Premium, with import from another calendar.
- Safety: share your location for a while, Companion on the way home Premium and the emergency alert – always free.
- Family: roles, invites with a link or QR code, children with or without a phone of their own, several families and a custody schedule.
